Mount Morris Park Historical District 300x224 Focus on Harlem Landmarks at MMPCIA Feb 19 General Meeting...We are so proud of the great work the Mount Morris Park Community Improvement Association is doing on strengthening the Mount Morris Park Historic District. The general meeting on February 19 has a strong line up of experts and advocates:

  • Jenny Fernandez, Director of Intergovernmental Relations, NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission, will speak on status of neglected shells in the area and provide an update on expansion plans for the Historic District;
  • John Reddick, cultural historian and curator of Harlem’s Black and Jewish Music Culture, 1890 – 1930, will introduce the showcase currently on display at Ristorante Settepani of the influences and collaborations between Black and Jewish composers during the Harlem Renaissance; and
  • MMCPIA Board Member Romana Thomas Scott and Leah Abraham, owner of Ristorante Settepani, will discuss plans for enhancing the Lenox Avenue corridor.
